Most people deal with some sort of stress. Educated folks around the world have placed stress as an underlying factor in a wide range of diseases.
Everything is made of energy. Years ago, when Taoists confronted negative emotional energy, rather than trying to destroy it or release it, they employed techniques to transform negative, sick energy into healing energy. This concept of transformation created a way of viewing medicine and health that was completely different than other concepts that involved a constant release of vital energy that depleted the patient during the curing process.
We know now that the energy from negative emotions can get stuck or stored in the body's organs. Over time, the accumulation of negativity erodes the organs health and effects the person's view on life and the world around them.
The Six Healing Sounds is a series of postures and subvocal breaths that work to transform the negative energy stored in the organs in to positive, life enhancing energy which in turn allows for healthy organ function. It is particularly effective because the practice was created with the understanding of how emotions carry their own electrical charge and how that charge translates to life giving or life taking reality.
Along with the Inner Smile, the Six Healing Sounds can be practiced daily. Adults are encouraged to show this stabilizing practice to their kids. The more you practice, the more toxins you recycle. Negative emotions need not build up in the brain and body with the use of the Six Healing Sounds - rather they can be transformed into refreshing, vital life force.
Grand Master Mantak Chia and his teachers have shown thousands that one of the Taoist ways of dealing with stress is to perform a simple meditation called the Six Healing Sounds. The Six Healing Sounds are so simple and easy to perform that Master Chia and I have shared this meditation with almost every student of the Tao. Many have found the Six Healing Sounds to be the most valuable technique of all the natural health practices. As a practitioner and educator, I tend to agree - especially when it is combined with the Inner Smile practice.
I have seen a number of products designed to teach this simple practice and particularly love the ChiKids! videos for children on www.ChiFamily.com.
The Inner Smile, The Six Healing Sounds and MicroCosmic Orbit are three meditations that are intended to be viewed as a set. You may study the Inner Smile first. Then study the Six Healing Sounds to add power to your Smiling practice. Finish with the MicroCosmic Orbit Meditation to move the Smiling energy through the body and store it in a safe place for later use.
Here Sarina adds postures that stretch and activate acupuncture meridians as well as sounds to vibrate each smiling organ to your Inner Smile practice. Most students feel the increased power to the Inner Smile the first time they add posture and sound.
"Inner Smile" and "Six Healing Sounds" exercises focus on five organs or organ systems: the heart, the lungs, the kidneys, the liver/gall bladder, and the stomach/spleen.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is considered an alternative medicine in much of the Western world. TCM includes treatments such as Chinese herbal medicine, Qigong, Thai massage, Tai Chi, meditation techniques, acupuncture, organic 5 Element Cooking, and both Tui na and Shiatsu massage.
The Six Healing Sounds Meditation audio is just an audio version of the practice that you can listen to whenever and wherever you are.
